What are filters?

Filters offer a powerful way for you to segment and organize multiple Telegram inboxes and chats, simplifying the process of managing conversations. By defining specific criteria, such as owner, category, or status, effortlessly categorize incoming (and waiting!) messages and focus your outbound efforts. This feature not only streamlines your inbox management but also enhances productivity by ensuring that high priority messages are quickly accessible based on your individual preferences and requirements.

How to use 3RM filters

Filter your inbox from the 3RM app interface! Your main Chats page and individual Smart Lists are all automatically filterable for your ease of use. Simply click the “Add filter” button and add as many filters as you need to make your inbox viewable based on the qualifiers that matter to you.

In the event that you find a filtered view that you know you’ll come back to regularly, save it as a Smart List to capture the filtering options in a dynamic list. These filtered lists can make your outreach efforts more targeted, as well as make your inbox less overwhelming when searching for specific conversations.

There are three filter types to choose from:

  1. Inside of Telegram: These are filters that rely on information that comes from your Telegram integration (1:1 or Group, Chat Members, Folders, and Latest Message). These filters are automatically populated with a 3RM integration to Telegram.

  2. Owner and Date: These filters (Date Added and Added by) offer you the ability to filter conversations by date range or by conversation owner.

  3. Inside of 3RM: The notes and values assigned in 3RM can be used to filter your inbox. These filters (Favorite, Follow-Ups, Status, Owner, and Categories) allow you to use the context and notes you attach to conversations in 3RM as the filtered attributes.

Knowing how these three work together to build an optimal view or persona will enable you to create a more refined, tailored perspective on your data inside 3RM.

Best filters for creating Smart Lists

The filters you use to create a Smart List will vary depending on your intention behind the list. Smart Lists enable multiple pipeline views of segmented, targeted chats. If there are dedicated views that are important to you and your team, you can save these views as a Smart List. People will often use subjective categories or statuses and that makes their conversation data hard to update. By building your Smart Lists with a goal in mind, you can track progress more effectively.

For example, Imagine a salesperson using 3RM to organize their Telegram inbox. They decide to create a "Top Leads" Smart List to prioritize high-potential prospects. Leveraging the filtering options available, they set up the following criteria:

  • Filter by "Latest Message" to ensure the list reflects active engagements.

  • Filter by "Added by" to track conversations assigned to specific team members, like themself.

  • Filter by "Status" to categorize conversations based on their stage in the sales process.

  • Filter by "Categories" to segment conversations by industry.

By combining these filters and saving the viewpoint, the salesperson creates a dynamic "Top Leads" list that prioritizes relevant conversations based on real-time engagement, personal ownership, date, and contextual information from 3RM notes and values.

Beyond custom lists, there are some pre-saved lists that 3RM has created for ease of use.

  • Favorites: Your personal favorite chats. This setting is not team wide, so no one on your team sees your favorite conversations. (Favorite a conversation from the sidebar by clicking the “Favorite” button).

  • My 1:1 Chats: 1:1 messages that you import from Telegram to 3RM are automatically assigned to you and filtered in this view. This list is personal, so your team does not see it. Each team member using 3RM has their own 1:1 chats, so their Smart Lists populate based on their unique Telegram integrations.

  • My Group Chats: Same as above but for all groups. This list is personalized, as well.

  • Owned By Me: Chats that are assigned to you in 3RM. These are not conversations that you own in Telegram, but conversations assigned under your name in the “Owner” property.

  • Follow Ups Due: 3RM’s app sorts based on follow up data automatically, meaning only chats assigned to you under the “Owner” property will populate this list.

  • Recently Added: This is a pre-set filter for a specific amount of time. These conversations are organization wide.

Why starting in 3RM matters

Generally, teams like to start in Telegram and be responsive to their inbox. While this works on a case by case basis for some uses, it is generally not scalable for team wide reporting. Our recommendation is to start in 3RM everyday, using your targeted Smart Lists to guide your Telegram outbound efforts. By leveraging targeted Smart Lists tailored to specific objectives, teams can efficiently prioritize and organize their Telegram communication based on a more strategic and coordinated approach across your team.
